Yanks get Johnson
The Yankees have reportedly finally agreed on a trade with the Diamondbacks that will send the Big Unit to NY. I am not too suprised by this, as I had a feeling it was only a matter of time before Randy Johnson put on the hated pinstripes. This trade only makes the rivarly between the Sox and Yanks that much greater. I cannot imagine if Curt was healthy enough to pitch opening day in NY against his former teammate. If that happened, that game might even get more headlines than the Shaq vs. Kobe game we had on Christmas.
Yanks rotation is now Johnson, Mussina, Pavano, Wright, and Brown.
Sox rotation is Schilling, Clement, Wells, Miller, and Arroyo.
Our rotation is going to depend a lot on how healthy our starters are. Schilling is expected to miss the first month of the season. Miller is said to be ready by opening day, but that could change. Wells, even though he has started 30 games 4 of the past 5 seasons has had back problems. Health is a major concern in Red Sox Nation, but if the Sox are healthy, I expect them to make the playoffs again in 05 whether it is by the division (which would be awesome) or the wild card. The Sox, Marlins, and Angels the past 3 years have proven that it doesn't matter how you get to the playoffs, as long as you get there.
All that being said, blogging has been light for me over my winter break, and will be until I get back to school on the 24th. Have a safe and Happy New Year.
Check out this Yankees article on ESPN. Very funny stuff.
